The new Republican tax plan isn't catching on with most Americans, according to a new poll from Quinnipiac University.
A majority of respondents – 52 percent – said they disapprove of the overhaul effort, while only 25 percent said they approve.

The problem seems to be that most Americans aren’t buying the idea that the tax plan will benefit average voters. Fifty-nine percent of respondents said that the plan would favor the rich over the middle class.
Tim Malloy, assistant director of the poll, summed it up this way: "The sentiment from voters: The GOP tax plan is a great idea, if you are rich. Otherwise, you're out of luck.”
The national poll surveyed 1,577 voters between November 7 and November 13, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
