The taxes American workers pay on their wages are on par with those paid by workers in other developed countries, according to a new report from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

U.S. workers paid 26 percent in income taxes and social security contributions (subtracting any family benefits received), about equal to the 25.5 percent average for 35 OECD countries.

The study was based on data from 2017, before the new GOP tax cuts were enacted.
