House Democratic leaders are looking to hone their messaging for the midterm elections, The Hill reports — but it’s not an easy task.

- House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi listed infrastructure, campaign finance reform, tougher gun laws and help for immigrants who were brought to the U.S. illegally as minors.
- House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer said he would “focus like a laser on job creation, infrastructure and skills training investment.”
- Rep. Joseph Crowley of New York, who chairs the House Democratic Caucus, said he’d prioritize health-care access, affordable college tuition and oversight of the Trump administration.
Rep. Linda Sánchez of California, the vice chair of the Democratic Caucus, highlighted retirement security.
