The Amazing Growth of High-Deductible Health-Care Plans

According to CDC data released Wednesday, the percentage of Americans under age 65 with a high-deductible health plan grew from 43.7 percent in 2017 to 47 percent in the first three months of 2018.

“Almost half of people under age 65 with private insurance are now in a high-deductible plan,” tweeted Larry Levitt of the Kaiser Family Foundation, a non-profit focused on national health issues. “It's remarkable how much the nature of insurance has changed in recent years.”
