Louis M. Peck has been a Washington-based reporter and editor for more than three decades, focusing on coverage of Congress, the federal bureaucracy and national politics. For 19 years, Peck was editor-in-chief of National Journal's CongressDaily, which he helped to found in 1991. Prior to that, he was a reporter in the Washington bureau of Gannett Newspapers and editor of Campaigns & Elections magazine. His writing also has appeared in Congressional Quarterly, the Baltimore Sun, and the American Journalism Review. Peck, who holds a B.A. in American history from Brown University, is a former visiting instructor in the Washington Program of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
