Nick Leeson, Barings Bank
In the best known of all rogue trading scandals, Leeson in 1995 brought down Barings, Britain's oldest investment bank, by racking up trading losses of $1.4 billion. He was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison, but was released in 1999 after being diagnosed with colon cancer. Leeson survived his battle with the disaease and has since written two books about the scandal and its fallout, including Rogue Trader, which was turned into a movie starring Ewan McGregor.
