Although women in New Zealand only get 14 weeks off work for maternity leave (not much better than the U.S.’s 12), they receive a full salary during that time. The number of years females are expected to be in formal education there is high (20 years), as is the ratio of female-to-male earnings (0.69). The number of women using contraception is also high at 72 percent.
