Internet Access
If you’re surfing the web in Wisconsin, you’re subject to 5 percent sales and use tax on Internet access. There is currently a moratorium on taxation on internet access at the federal level under the 1998 Internet Tax Freedom Act, so states can no longer tax Internet access. But since the Badger State already had the tax in place before the act was signed into law, it can continue taxing its residents to use the web.
