Snowbird jobs let older workers go south for the winter, and travel nurse is the highest-paying of these, according to Hannon. RNs and LPNs are in high demand in Florida and Arizona during winter months. Getting one of these jobs requires an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing, plus a nursing license that’s acquired by passing a national exam. The jobs pay from $21 to $45 or more an hour, and housing stipends and health insurance also are often part of the package, she notes.
