Pontiac Solstice (2006-2007)
The Solstice was a sports car first introduced at the 2004 North American International Auto Show. The Solstice roadster was put into production in Wilmington, Del., starting in mid-2005 for the 2006 model. The sleekly designed Solstice was built on GM’s rear-wheel drive Kappa platform. When sales plummeted during the 2008 recession, the federal government persuaded GM to eliminate the Pontiac Division.
