4. The Witch (Feb. 26, RT Features)
Filling the role previously occupied by such films as It Follows and The Babadook, The Witch is this year’s art house horror film that was the talk of Sundance. Set in the Puritan colonies during the 17th century, The Witch explores the circumstances around the infamous witch hunts and reportedly left festival audiences chilled to the bone. Horror movies typically represent low risk/high reward potential for Hollywood and they’ll be hoping this was a smart festival pickup.
