Duke Nukem 3D (1996)
Though it was quite clearly a tongue-in-cheek parody of overt machismo, the eponymous character, Duke Nukem, was widely criticized for his misogynistic attitude by many watchdog groups. In addition, the game featured widespread violence, language, and sexual themes. Oh, and you get to tip highly-pixelated strippers.
